Gary Kirsten asked to shut it by BCCI

BCCI does not find Gary Kirsten talking to the media the least bit amusing.The secretary of BCCI, Niranjan Shah ‘advised’ Coach Kirsten to stay away from the media after the latter spoke about his views on Test Captaincy two days back.

In case you didn’t already know, Gary Kirsten had told the media that ODI skipper Dhoni is ready to take over… or rather should take over Test captaincy from Kumble.

"Dhoni is ready for it Test captaincy,” he said, “Anil is a great leader and he is toiling in many overs for India but he is on the other side of the physical side of the game.”

Not too peppy a comment for Kumble fans, is it? And if that wasn’t enough, Kirsten even took a subtle poke at the senior players of the Indian team. “Senior players in the Indian team are fully aware that they need to continue performing. It's not what you did three years ago but what you did a couple of months ago,"

We all know who these senior players are… it would be interesting to think about the sparks flying in the dressing rooms between these players and Coach Kirsten. Let us hope Kirsten doesn’t go the Greg Chappell way.
